Before I rant, I freely admit that I’m a bit of a pessimist, but some people just take it to the extreme.
The people in particular that kill me are the ones who constantly bitch about their jobs. They bitch about the way things are done. Or they bitch about who got what promotion. Or, my favorite, they bitch about other coworkers and about what they are (or aren’t) doing.
Let’s take these one at a time. Why do you negative people feel the need to bitch about the way your company does things? It’s not your company, so do it their way. The best line is when they say, “That’s stupid. I’m not doing that.” Yes. Yes you are. Or you’ll find another job. Last time I checked, you don’t sign your paycheck, your employer does. So you can either do what they tell you to do when they tell you to do it, or you can be fired. Be happy you have a fucking job and just do your damn job.
Next up are the people who bitch about people who got promoted over them. If you did your job instead of bitching about everything maybe you WOULD have gotten promoted. Instead you’re getting nothing done while you complain about every…fucking…thing. Besides, no company is going to promote your dumb ass when you constantly complain about the way they do things. So shut up and do your damn job!
Lastly are those unhappy people who are always worried (and bitching) about what other people are or aren’t doing. “So-and-so just surfs the internet all day and it’s bullshit.” First of all, unless you’re so-and-so’s manager, it’s not your damn concern what he or she is doing. And again (it’s a theme!) if you’re not worried about what other people are doing then you will be more productive instead of getting pissed off and bitching about everything. Eventually those people will be found out and taken care of. And so will you if you bitch about them instead of doing your job. “So-and-so is so lazy. They get away with everything. It’s not fair.” Shut the fuck up. Life’s not fair. The sooner you come to that realization the better your life (and the lives of those around you) will be. Just go to work, do your job, and go home. There’s nothing else you need to worry about. If someone else is fucking off, then it’s his or her manager’s responsibility to take care of it. Not yours.
The bottom line is this: no one likes someone who does nothing but bitch about everything. When you sign your own paycheck, then you can do things the way you want them done, you can fire the fuck offs, and you will decide who gets promoted and who doesn’t. Until then, shut the fuck up and do your damn job…without complaining.
