Thank you Serins for starting this poem and laying down the intensity with which this poem flows. I really enjoyed writing this one.

Whispering, shouting, screaming
Life and Words have no meaning

Hollow echo…o..O

Breath! No Air!
Don’t care!

Screaming whisper!
Turns around!
Unbound!

Ha! HA! HA! …a…a
Echo near and far

Stop!
Make it Stop!
STOP

Gasping, hyperventilating, crying
Fiery hands grasp my heart, prying

Muffles the beat…beat…beat…beat…

I cry out in despair
There’s no one there
No one cares!

Strangled blood vessels pop, pop, pop
My heart grinds to a stop

Stop
Make it stop!
Pop, pop, pop!

Pain just pain
Darkness left unbound
no one around

Silence! Quiet!
Just make no sound…
Lost, faraway, UN-found.

Heart reaching for words to retrieve
Lungs grasping for air to breathe

Reach out! Reach out! Reach out!
beat.. beat… beat…
Please help me get back on my feat….

Falling, stumbling, faltering
On hand and knees, prone
Suffering in blackness, alone

A cry, a wail
Plead for help, to no avail
Demons the hammer, I’m the nail

Bam! Bam! Bam!
Pounded deep under, I am
Wham! Wham! Wham!

  1. The rhythm of this makes you read faster and faster. I feel like I’ve had a jolt of electric in my system now. Fantastic you two!

I love how this poem is more than words. It has sound effects, if you know what I mean. *applause*

  6. This is what they mean when they say that often times a person’s best work comes from a place of deep despair. Wow.

    • I can only speak for myself, but I often times write my best poetry (and am only inspired to do so) when I’m suffering. These last few days, though, I’ve been in a pretty good place and the poetry has been flowing nonetheless. I hope it stays that way.

    • I always think that you need to channel the pain and try to make something beautiful from it…..

  9. Try, try, again. Crazy Good Parent is focusing on men’s voices this month. I would love to reblog this. If you could, I would rather it appeared in whole on CGP with a link back to td421, so I would give you authorship privileges. Sound ok?

  10. Reblogged this on Crazy Good Parent and commented:
The majority of voices featured on Crazy Good Parent are women’s. Researchers continually find that women are more communicative, especially about their emotions. So, it’s a special treat to find a neurodiverse father blogging about his emotional life. Twindaddy, who blogs at td421.wordpress.com, describes himself as “Sometimes funny. Sometimes serious. Always genuine.” I would add brave and honest.

Enjoy this poem co-written by Twindaddy and Serins.
