It appears to be Saturday again. And it’s the last Saturday of 2022!! I’d be hopeful that 2023 is going to be a better year, but let’s face it – we’ve all been hoping for better years since 2020…

Anyhow, since Saturday is here once again, that means it’s time to answer 9 questions from Crazy Sam! Why 9 and not a nice, round number like 10? Because Crazy Sam!!

Saturday 9: The Last Song (1972)

Unfamiliar with this week’s tune? Hear it here.

This is the last Saturday 9 song of 2022.

Thanks for another great year.

1) In this song, the lead singer admits he leaves the light on when he goes to sleep. Do you leave any lights on in your bedroom? Or do you prefer it completely dark?

I have trouble sleeping with lights on, so I turn them all off. Baby C, however, leaves his on, and even wants the bathroom lights on all night. If he could park the sun right outside his window at night, he probably would. 🤷 I was the same way his age.

2) He sings that he can’t stop wondering where his old girlfriend is. Do you know whatever happened to any of your exes?

A few of them, yeah. Not for trying, though. I kinda hafta keep up with C’s mom. That sucks…

3) He says this is the last song he’ll ever sing to his girl. What’s the last song you sang? Where were you when you sang it?

Uhhhhh… No clue. I listen to music nearly everywhere I go and sing along, too. The answer to this could literally be anywhere.

4) Edward Bear was a Canadian group who took their name from Winnie the Pooh. As written by A. A. Milne, Edward Bear was Pooh’s “proper” name. Pooh’s favorite food was honey. Is there a food you can’t get enough of?

I think the more appropriate question is, what foods do I not get enough of. I kinda like to eat…

 5) In 1972, when this song was popular, Disney’s Winnie the Pooh was quite a celebrity in his own right, appearing on the cover the 1972 Sears Christmas Wish Book. That year, kids asked Santa for plush Pooh, Tigger and Eeyore. Did you have many plush toys as a child? If yes, do you still have any of them?

I had a few. As I got older, it didn’t seem “manly,” so I got rid of them. Masculinity is stupid…

6) Enough about 1972! Let’s look back on 2022. What’s something you learned or rediscovered in 2022?

I rediscovered how broken I am and that I need to take better care of myself and get help. I’m still working on it.

7) Can you think of a moment in 2022 you’d like to do over?

I could, but I don’t see the point in dwelling on things I can’t change. What happened happened, and the only way forward is, ya know, forward. I’m spittin’ deep stuff, here…

8) What are you looking forward to most in 2023?

Seeing how long it takes me to write the correct year when writing the date.

9) Random question: Who received the last email you sent?

Uh… Idk. I’ve been off work since the 16th, and I don’t feel like checking. 😂
