This season’s highest-rated new show, Drive Daddy Daffy, is the talk around every water cooler in the US and has critics singing its praises like that drunk guy at karaoke (if you don’t know to whom I’m referring, then it’s you). Tune in to WTFH to catch the next episode of Drive Daddy Daffy. This episode is brought to you by Southern Comfort…because daddy needs some.

Narrator: Dad has only 3 biological children (Babies A, B, and C – no, it is not easy as 1,2,3), yet he has been a father figure to so many more. When dad was 17, his mom took in a coworker who needed to escape an abusive boyfriend. That coworker had a 1-year-old daughter. Dad cared for that girl at night when both his mom and coworker were working. Dad cared for 2 step-children for the entirety of his first marriage. In 2018, he moved in with his girlfriend, who was fostering 4 girls (in addition to her own daughter). Dad helped raise those girls for the next four years. This episode introduces us to 19-year-old Baby M, who is one of those foster children.

Dad’s phone dinged. So, naturally, he checked to see what the notification was. It was a message from Baby M.

Do u have 30 I can bum till Friday?

Dad knew money was tight for her because she had bought a car the previous week, so dad Venmo’d her the money. He told her not to worry about paying him back. After all, he still gave the twins money every once in a while and didn’t always get it back.

True to her word, though, Baby M paid him back that Friday. Dad left the money on his Venmo account. He suspected she would soon ask for money again, and he was right. He probably should’ve bought a lottery ticket that day.

Do u have another 15

Dad tried to Venmo the money he had in his Venmo account, but he only had the option to send money from his checking account. So, he had to send the money from his checking account, then initiate a transfer of funds from his Venmo account to his checking account. “Do better, Venmo!” Dad says to, well, no one, because he was by himself. Stupid being alone…

Like he had every time he’d spoken to her the last two months, dad implored her to come back home so she could get back on her feet. Not only was she struggling financially due to bills and an ungodly string of mechanical issues with her vehicle, but she was struggling with depression and feeling alone. This time, dad got his Johnnie Cochran on and gave Baby M the best closing argument he possibly could to convince her to come home.

I think I’m gonna come back …

Dad is ecstatic. He worries about Baby M and wants to help her learn to live on her own in any way he can. M said she already has a job interview lined up out here and will likely start moving her things back in before the end of the year. Dad will have to rearrange a few things to make room for her, but that’s a small price to pay to get his surrogate daughter home, so he knows she’s okay.

In a very small amount of time, dad has learned that one of his children will be leaving the state soon and another is coming home. Parenthood is like a rollercoaster without the safety bar.

Drive Daddy Daffy is the highest-rated new sitcom no one in this house asked for. Tune in next time to see what silly antics C has in store for dad. New episodes air almost every time C says anything at all.
