This week has been much better than last week. Lightyears better. I’m in a much better place and can probably (hopefully) find 10 things for which to be thankful. Shall we begin?
I rediscovered The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time this past week. I haven’t played this game in ages and I forgot how awesome it is. I have spent quite a bit of free time prowling around Hyrule as Link, saving the world from the evil Ganondorf. Sure, it’s a bit cheesy, but still a great game.
I’m finally back on my meds! After three weeks of frustration I finally got to see my doctor and he agreed that I needed to stay medicated and hopefully I’ll be back to myself in a few more days.

This past week has brought on many more small moments with C, most of which made me laugh.
- While taking a shower the other day, C informed me that he would be using the green shower puff, because green means go.
- While pooping in the potty the other day (yay!) he was pushing with all his might to evacuate his bowels, when he suddenly looked into the toilet bowl and yelled, “C’mon, poop!”
- Tuesday, while sitting with C on the couch watching Chip and Dale cartoons and waiting for his mother to pick him up, he suddenly turned around and gave me the biggest hug ever. It was awesome.
- I was half-way out the door to head to work yesterday morning when C shouted, “Wait! I will come with you!” I had to break his little heart and tell him he couldn’t come with me. Of course, once he saw Elmo again he totally forgot that he wanted to come with me…
The twins made it back from Michigan Sunday evening and told me all about their trip with grandpa to see the Michigan game. Even though Michigan got whooped, the boys still had an amazing time at the game. They then went to my cousin’s house for the rest of the day, where they had a bonfire on the shores of Whitmore Lake.
This weekend I’ll have the house to myself. The children will be with their mothers and my mom will be in Michigan for a wedding. I need this break to just relax, become acclimated to my meds again, and to write some more in my story.
After fearing I’d have trouble making it to just one of the twin’s football games, I made it to my third game in a row last night. I guess the stars have aligned. Or something. Plus, the twins finally got in to play some corner in the 4th quarter. They did well.

Though I’ve been sorely tempted a couple of times, I still haven’t had any alcohol in seven weeks!
I am again, and always will be, thankful for coffeh. NOM.

I had to declare bankruptcy in 2009 because the twins’ mother screwed me during our divorce (Not in a good way. It was never in a good way.). She was supposed to refinance the house to remove my name from it, but never did. So I declared Chapter 13 and have been making payments on my debts while having the loan on that house expunged from my credit. This month I make the final payment on that plan. Thank GAWD.
I got invited to Ello! I feel like I’m finally sitting at the cool table with all the cool kids. Hit me up if you’re there @twindaddy.

Man it’s good to know you are doing better. A lot better. 🙂

I really am. Not 100% back to normal (or whatever passes for normal), but I’m slowly getting there.

Thats good to know. That zelda game. I don’t think I’ve played it before. I know that the graphics must be cheesy since its from back in the day.

Yeah, it’s a bunch of polygons glued together (at least, that’s what it looks like), but I still love that game.

Lol. Back then it was considered one of the best games of that era. I haven’t personally played it but I bet its a lot of fun.

I remember playing it when it first came out and the graphics blew me away. It doesn’t look awful now, but everything is pointy and grainy. It’s kinda funny.

Lol. Thats the funny thing though in ten to twenty years the games now are going to look crappy or close to it (depending on the game). And kids are going to wonder how did us folks play these types of games? But those future folk should realize that way back then civilization made it without video games.

Here’s a bonus 11th reason. It’s the NY Times review of Star Wars Rebels that starts tonight. Looks like they didn’t fuck it up.

Muy bueno, TD! What a joy to read about the things you are grateful for. That little C is too much. I think little kids are the best medicine. I immediately feel happy when I hang out with my niece and nephew. What comes out of their mouths is priceless.

C is amazing. He’s quite a handful sometimes, but then other times he IS the smile on my face.

What an awesome list! As a mother of 3, who watches extra small children for some reason, I can tell you first-hand how very super exciting the concept of kids being potty trained is!
Good luck with your meds, hope it’s a quick transition.
I will try to figure out HOW to follow you on Ello, I had to pretty much beg for an invitation, after they REJECTED ME on the site. Now I can’t figure anything out on there. I think I need to access it not on Google Chrome, nothing works the way they say it should on the Help menu.

Glad you’re getting a break where you can have some time alone at home this week and that you’re feeling so much better. I’m still waiting on my stupid invite from stupid ello. I don’t even know why I want it – one more place to keep up with the shit that I’m behind on on all the places I’m behind on? Cheers too to seeing another of the twin’s games. That’s awesome.
